Womens Initiation

A shamanic initiation brings an initiate to a new level of spiritual awareness. During this training, we offer the time, place, and guidance required for initiates to journey deeply into the spiritual realms and then re-emerge with an experiential knowledge of these realms and the power they contain. The spirits act as the teachers through this process.

Our program takes students to this deeper level through a series of ten experiential initiations that both challenge and transform the initiate in ways not usually experienced in our modern culture. This is a residential program designed to immerse the participant into the world of shamanic consciousness while being held by experienced facilitators and a caring community of initiates.

For women who want to go deeper into the mystical realm of Shamanism, this is an 18 month program. We gather for four-day retreats every other month, with community support in the months between retreats. This extended and ongoing circle provides the container each initiate needs to integrate her experiences into the fabric of her everyday life.

Shamanic healing is a spiritual practice that has survived in the depths of cultures around the world. One of the ancient practices that has been returned to us is shamanic drum healing. In this workshop, participants will learn drum healing as practiced by the Tuvan peoples of Siberia and experience the power of the spirit world as it moves through the drum, through the healer, and out into the world.
Shamanic extraction is a core practice common to every shamanic tradition. The healer, with the help of the spirits, uses a variety of extraction techniques to remove an offending element from a person's soul, thus restoring integrity and hastening healing. In this training, participants learn and practice extraction work while exploring health and healing from a shamanic point of view.
The traumas of life, such as abuse, accidents and losses can cause spiritual injuries, even soul loss, leaving the individual depleted and susceptible to illness and emotional malady. Shamanic soul retrieval locates and returns lost pieces of the soul, restoring wholeness and spiritual health. In this four-day intensive, participants learn to track a missing soul part, return it to an individual, and then assist that individual to integrate the newly retrieved soul piece. This ancient form of shamanic healing is taught through ritual, journeying and practice.
